The board of the Reykjavik Friends of the Arts society is delighted that the new oratorio GOSPEL OF MARY by the Icelandic composer HUGI GUÐMUNDSSON is nominated as THE MUSIC EVENT OF THE YEAR and THE COMPOSITION OF THE YEAR at the ICELANDIC MUSIC AWARD which will be celebrated tonight in HARPA and sent out live at RÚV at 19.55.
We are very happy and proud of having commissioned the creation of this beautiful and timeless piece.
Congratulations to all the creators and dear collaborators in this project that has already traveled to 2 other countries and will be out soon on recording – more on that later – Thank you Hugi Gudmundsson, Nila Parly, Niels Brunse, Oslo Sinfonietta, Schola Cantorum, Hörður Áskelsson and Berit Norbakken and a thank you to the Reykjavik Arts Festival for the collaboration during the world premiere in Reykjavik on June 6 2022 in Hallgrimskirkja Reykjavik.
