O, HOLY NIGHT- THE MOTET CHOIR’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT FRÍKIRKJAN Í REYKJAVÍK SUNDAY DECEMBER 19 AT 5 PM
The Motet Choir has for almost forty years brought Christmas joy to the natives of Iceland and it’s Christmas concerts are an important part of the lavish festivities in Reykjavik during the Advent.
At this year’s concert the choir will sing a choice of their favorite Christmas Songs with soloist Þórgunnur Anna Örnólfsdóttir mezzosoprano and organist Lára Bryndís Eggertsdóttir. The program consists of wonderful Christmas music, both German hymns from the baroque era and an aria from Messiah by Händel as well as English carols and Christmas Music by Icelandic composers, among them is a beautiful Christmas
Song by the conductor of the choir Hörður Áskelsson. The concert will take place Sunday December 19th at 5 pm in Fríkirkjan í Reykjavik which is beautifully situated by the lake downtown Reykjavík and tickets are sold on TIX.IS
