Jón Bjarnason

Jón Bjarnason

Jón Bjarnason was born 1979 in Skagafjörður, North Iceland. He started piano lessons when he was seven years old and graduated as a piano teacher in 2003 from The Reykjavík College of Music. Jón graduated as cantor from Tónskóli Þjóðkirkjunnar in 2006, as well as finishing his soloist diploma. 

He finished a diploma in Organ repertoire from the Royal Danish Academy of 

Music in Copenhagen 2012. Jón was organist in Seljakirkja in Reykjavik 2003- 2009. Since 2009 Jón is organist at Skálholt Cathedral in South-Iceland.

 

Vilhjálmur Ingi Sigurðsson

Vilhjálmur Ingi Sigurðsson

Vilhjálmur Ingi Sigurðsson was born in Akureyri in North Iceland in the year 1980. He first studied trumpet in Akureyri Music School from age 10. He then attended Reykjavik Music College and studied with Ásgeir H. Steingrímsson and graduated in the year 2003. 

He then moved to Oslo and studied at the Norwegian College of Music 2003- 

2005 when he finished his Bachelor degree. 

His teacher there was Professor Jan Frederik Christiansen. 

Vilhjálmur studied further in Finland, where his teachers where Jouko Harjanne 

and Touko lundell and graduated with masters degree in the spring of 2008. 

 

During his studies in Helsinki he played with several orchestras including 

the Sibelius Academy orchestra , Helsinki opera and many chamber groups. 

Vilhjálmur moved back to Iceland and is solo trumpetist with the North 

Iceland Symphony Orchestra (SinfoniaNord) and is teacher at the Akureyri Music School. 

Vilhjálmur has also played with Iceland symphony Orchestra , Icelandic Opera and is a member of Ísafold chamber orchestra, Hexagon Brass ensemble and works freelance with many other groups. He has been very active as soloist and has attended trumpet competitions both in Oslo 2004 and in Lieksa 2012. 

 

Jóhann Ingvi Stefánsson

Jóhann Ingvi Stefánsson

Jóhann Ingvi Stefánsson was born in Selfoss and started his music education there. He graduated from the Reykjavík Music College as teacher in 1992. Jóhann has held concerts in collaboration with various musicians and played with various bands and chamber groups. These include the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Reykjavik Big Band and the Caput Group.

He has also participated at the National Theater and the Icelandic Opera. Jóhann has appeared as a soloist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras. He is member of various bands e.g. the rock band Skjálftavaktin and the dance band Blek and Byttur. Jóhann is the Deputy Head of the Music School of Tónlistarskóli Árnesinga, South- Iceland.
