The Motet Choir of Hallgrímskirkja has for years brought joy to the people of Iceland during Christmas and the choir‘s annual Christmas concerts are a true highlight of the diverse array of christmas and advent concerts in Reykjavík in December.
Performers: The Hallgrimskirkja Motet Choir, Elmar Gilbertsson tenor, “Male Singer of the Year” at the Icelandic Music Award 2016,

THE KLAIS ORGAN 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Organ concert with both Hallgrimskirkja organists to celebrate the Klais organ inaugurated on Dec 13th 1992.
Björn Steinar Sólbergsson and Hörður Áskelsson organists at Hallgrímskirkja play at the magnificent Klais organ of Hallgrímskirkja. FREE ADMISSION.

Festive music for three trumpets, timpany and organ. Famous works by J.S.Bach ( Toccata and fuge in d- minor), Albinoni ( Adagio), Charpentier and more.

The New Years mood is set by the Festive Sounds of the long time musical partners, and this concert is hugely popular as it has been performed for a full house on the last night of the year since the inauguration of the Klais organ in 1992.
