For the 25th time the summer in Hallgrímskirkja will be filled with beautiful organ music performed by great organists on the magnificent Klais-organ, which is the largest instrument in Iceland. Sunday 6th of august an amazing danish concert organist Bine Katrine Bryndorf will perform music by D. Buxtehude, J. Brahms, J.S. Bach (Passaclia), M. Weckmann and M. Radelescu.
Bine Katrine Bryndorf is Castle Organist at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, 40 km North of Copenhagen. She is also Visiting Professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London and teaches at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.
1994-2017 she taught first in Vienna then in Copenhagen, from 2001 as Professor and later also as Head of Department at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. In 2017 she chose to become full time musician acting as Castle Organist at the world famous Esaias Compenius Organ at Frederiksborg Castle. She still teaches a few hours in Copenhagen and travels regularly to London to teach at the Royal Academy of Music.
Bine Bryndorf has a widely acclaimed international career as a soloist, with special emphasis on Baroque music and is in great demand as a teacher of masterclasses and a juror at organ competitions. Being both organist and harpsichordist, chamber music has always been an essential element of her musicianship. She regularly performs in small ensembles as well as with choirs and chamber orchestras.
