Karlotta Bl\u00f6ndal GATHERING-<\/strong><\/p>\n

March 8 \u2013 May 24 2020 <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Hallgrimskirkja Friends of the Arts Society organizes a new exhibition of Kamilla Bl\u00f6ndal in the foyer of Hallgrimskirkja under the title “Gathering”. Curator is R\u00f3sa G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n

\"Hallgr\u00edmskirkja<\/a><\/p>\n

“An entrance gallery is a special place, a sort of place before a place, raising questions about the spaces that come next and who has living access to them. The entrance gallery of Hallgr\u00edmskirkja is open to all and attracts streams of visitors from every corner of the world. For this year\u2019s spring exhibition at Hallgr\u00edmskirkja we have chosen works that create a dialogue with this special space. Some of the works have been exhibited before, others are new or previously unseen, but all come together here like travellers. <\/p>\n

Each work is a theme from a greater context, from another time, going together to form a new whole, like a line of verse that finds a new home in another poem years later. A recurrent motif running through the exhibition is the flag as a frame around an inner or outer story. <\/p>\n

The exhibition opened on 8 March, International Women\u2019s Day, and was open on Palm Sunday, and will be open the Thursday of Easter week, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, and also on International Workers\u2019 Day, 1 May, and on until Ascension Day. <\/p>\n

All these days will colour people\u2019s perceptions and interpretations of the works, and the works themselves will gain strength from those who visit the space at any time, the stream of people in and out, the internal and external shifts and motions”.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is now open daily during the opening hours of Hallgrimskirkja 12 noon – 3 pm except for Mondays when the church is closed. Free entrance – all are welcome.<\/p>\n
