August at 12:00 – 12:30 <\/strong><\/p>\n Kitty Kovacs organist in Landakirkja church, Vestmanneyjar performs pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Pierre Cochereau.<\/p>\n Tickets 2500 ISK<\/p>\n Kitty Kov\u00e1cs<\/strong>, born in 1980 in Gyo\u030br in Hungary, graduated from the Music department of the Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University in her home town with a diploma in piano and chamber music. After working as an accompanist in Gyo\u030br she went on to study accompaniment at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. During her student years she won prizes, e.g. first prize in 1997 in Salt Lake City and in 2000 she won third prize in the Chopin competition in Hungary. Kitty Kov\u00e1cs moved to lceland in 2006 and has worked here as a piano teacher and organist, from 2011 in the Westmann Islands as organist at Landakirkja church and teacher at the local music school.
