Two young Icelandic trumpet players, J\u00f3hann Nardeau and Baldvin Oddsson, and a renowned French organist David Cassan regale the audience with baroque pomp and circumstances of the highest order.<\/p>\n

Works by Charpentier, Vivaldi ( the Seasons arr. for organ), Handel( Queen of Sheba and from “Pieces for a Musical Clock”) J.S. Bach (Triosonata no. 1) and others. Ticket: ISK 4.900 (discount for students, seniors and disabled).<\/p>\n

Internationally renowned organist, David Cassan<\/strong>, is one of the leading young organists of his generation. He studied at Caen Conservatoire, and at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique in Paris and Lyon with Thierry Escaich, Pierre Pincemaille, Philippe Lefebvre, Fran\u00e7ois Espinasse, Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Zygel and Erwan Le Prado. Today he leads a busy schedule performing as a soloist with prestigious ensembles (such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Paris, Orchestre National de Lyon, Capitole de Toulouse, Ch\u0153ur and Orchestre Symphonique de Paris) throughout France and throughout the world (Germany, England, Russia, China, Israel, Latvia, Estonia, Spain, Iceland, Uruguay, Holland, Ireland, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia).<\/p>\n

Renowned and praised by critics, David Cassan has a vast repertoire, with a preference for J.S. Bach and French works of the 19th and 20th century. A brilliant and creative improviser, David often accompanies silent films on the piano and organ.<\/p>\n

David Cassan has been awarded a dozen international first prizes including Chartres (France), St Albans (UK), Haarlem (Holland), and also the Grand Prix Jean-Louis Florentz of l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-Arts (France). These numerous awards makes him one of the most distinguished organists of his generation.<\/p>\n

A renowned pedagogue, he regularly gives masterclasses around the world (St Petersburg, Beijing, Bern, Milan, Lausanne, Zagreb, Paris, etc..). David teaches organ at Nancy Conservatoire and improvisation at Saint Maur-des-Foss\u00e9s Conervatoire. He also adjudicates often for French and international competitions. He is currently organist at the l\u2019Oratoire du Louvre in Paris.<\/p>\n

Jo\u0301hann Nardeau<\/p><\/div>\n

Johann Nardeau<\/strong> was born in December 1987 in Reykjav\u00edk, into a French-Icelandic family of musicians. In 2008 Johann was the only trumpet player to enter the Paris Conservatoire (CNSMDP) and in spring 2013 graduated with a master\u2019s degree from the class of Antoine Cur\u00e9 and Laurent Bourdon.<\/p>\n

As a soloist with orchestra Johann Nardeau has performed much of the standard trumpet repertoire. He has worked with various ensembles in Paris and surroundings. During the years 2013-2015 Johann was principal trumpet of the Orchestre des Laur\u00e9ats du Conservatoire in Paris. Since 2017 Johann teaches trumpet in the S\u00e8vres Conservatory in the vicinity of Paris.<\/p>\n

He performed at the very popular Festive Sounds at New Year in Hallgrimskirkja in 2018 together with Baldvin Oddsson and the Klais organ with great success.<\/p>\n

Baldvin Oddsson<\/p><\/div>\n

Baldvin Oddsson<\/strong> graduated from Manhattan school of Music in December 2016 and is presently living in New York.<\/p>\n

He won the Iceland Symphony Orchestra Young Musician Award and played as a soloist with the orchestra.<\/p>\n

Since then he has played with the trumpet section of the ISO on many occassions.<\/p>\n

Baldvin and his teacher, the trumpet virtuoso Steven Burns, performed memorably at The Festival of Sacred Arts in Hallgr\u00edmskirkja in 2013.<\/p>\n

Baldvin Oddsson also performed at the International Organ Summer in Hallgrimskirkja 2017 and 2018 with the Klais organ.<\/p>\n

He performed at the very popular Festive Sounds of New Year in Hallgrimskirkja in 2017 with the great Klais organ and 2 other trumpet players  and again in 2018 with J\u00f3hann Nardeau with great success.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
