In these twenty years the choir has under the direction of H\u00f6r\u00f0ur \u00c1skelsson, cantor of Hallgr\u00edmskirkja been ambitious in delivering music from old times to present to their audience in the finest way they can. The choir is still going strong, regularly renewing its vocal materials. Earlier this year Schola Cantorum was awarded as Performer of 2016 by The Iceland Music Awards.
