James McVinnie is internationally renowned both as soloist and collaborator in new music. At his concert McVinnie will play a daring mixture of renaissance music, Bach, Stravinsky, Vaughan Williams and a new piece written for him by Nico Muhli.\u00a0 McVinnie was Assistant Organist of Westminster Abbey between 2008 and 2011, where he amongst other directed the Abbey’s world-famous choir and performed at the 2011 Royal Wedding. Prior to his appointment to the Abbey, he held similar positions at St Paul\u2019s Cathedral, St Albans Cathedral, and at Clare College, Cambridge where he studied music. He appears on numerous recordings of vocal and choral music and, as a continuo player, he has appeared at most European early music festivals. James McVinnie is a member of Bedroom Community, the Icelandic record label and close-knit collective of musicians from different corners of the globe.<\/p>\n
